Department of Cardiovascular Thoracic Surgery

Cardiovascular and thoracic surgery department contributes as one of milestone in history of cardiac surgery Dr.B.R. kalke, who was the first head of the department, acknowledged as one of the forefathers of Indian open heart surgery. Later on dr. Kalke retired in 1985 as Dean of the Nair hospital. He gave the world the design for heart valve almost half a century ago. Based on his design, the current most widely used mechanical valve is made. He setup the experimental lab and revolutionizes and improves the surgical technique of cardiac surgery. Continue to work on his footstep , currently the department is well equipped with two operational theater and fully functional recovery room and giving best  service to poor needy patients.

We offer treatment in all the subspecialties of Cardiovascular and thoracic surgery field. We have two new state of the operation theatre (OT) well equipped for various cardiovascular thoracic surgeries.
