Facilities and Special Services:

  • This Department is essentially a center for the diagnosis and management of patients with hormonal Disorders.
  • It has a laboratory that is fully equipped for the Biochemical, Immunological and Hormonal evaluation of the patients attending the Endocrinology OPD.
  • Thus a patient who attends the Clinical Endocrinology Services can be fully evaluated under one roof.

Tests Done:

  • The following tests are performed regularly:

  • FSH, LH
  • Prolactin
  • Testosterone
  • Cortisol
  • Growth Hormone
  • T3, T4, TSH
  • Insulin
  • C peptide
  • Vitamin D
  • PTH


  • GAD
  • Islet Cell antibodies

Biochemistry Tests:

  • Blood glucose
  • GTT
  • HbA1c
  • Microalbuminuria
  • Cholesterol
  • Triglycerides
  • Urine glucose
  • Urine pH
  • Acid load test
  • S.Calcium, Phosphorus, Creatinine

Other Tests

  • Semen analysis
  • Dynamic  suppression and stimulation tests related to the various endocrine axes
  • Sex Chromatin / Karyotyping for Genetic Disorders

Guidelines For Patients Wishing to avail the Investigative Facilities:

  • Hormone assays are done only for patients seen in the OPD of Endocrinology, after which appropriate tests are planned.
  • The appointment would be allotted for the test in the department laboratory for sample collection (Blood etc.).
  • Charges for the tests would be have to be paid as applicable
